Will you help save a life?
Every second counts this Christmas.
Each year, more than 195,000 people come through our Gold Coast emergency departments facing the unimaginable. This Christmas, some will need life-saving care, other emergency accommodation, and many will receive news that will change their lives forever.
16-year-old Sophie found herself in this situation when her lungs were failing, and she went into cardiac arrest. Every second counted. Thanks to donations made to Gold Coast Hospital Foundation, a life-saving service was there when it mattered most - giving her the fighting chance she needed.
Your donation this Christmas will help fund vital medical equipmen and crucial services for those in critical need. When every second counts, you can be the life-saving difference.

A fight for life - every second counted
Sophie's Life-saving Story
You never expect a flu to take you down. But, that's what happened to 16-year-old Sophie, who had to fight for her life when her lungs were failing and she went into cardiac arrest. A life-saving service over an hour and a half from where she lived would be her only hope.
Thanks to donations, this vital service was there when she needed it most - giving Sophie the fighting chance she desperatley needed.
“The doctors told me that without the ECMO life support machine she wouldn’t survive, even with it her chances weren’t great,” said Sophie’s mum, Amanda.
“I had never heard of ECMO before. Never in my wildest dreams did I think this would happen to my child – I didn’t realise just how sick she was. It was hard to comprehend at the time that this machine was the only hope of saving my daughter’s life, and even then, it wasn’t guaranteed.”
This Christmas your donation will help fund:
Vital Medical Equipment
From ventilators to life-saving ECMO vehicles, your donation can help fund vital medical equipment that enhances the health outcomes and experiences of patients in our local hospitals and health precincts.
Cancer Patient Transport
Patients don't always have transport access to their critical chemotherapy or radiation treatments. Your donation today helps fund this crucial service for those who need it most.
Emergency Accommodation
It's the moments we never see coming that catch us off guard. Your donation can help provide a place for family members to stay when their loved one is unexpectedly fighting for life in critical care.
Life-changing
Medical Research
For some patients a breakthrough in medical research could mean the difference between life and death. Your support helps uncover life-saving treatments still waiting to be discovered.
Elevated Hospital Spaces
Waiting areas can hold life's hardest and most hopeful moments. With your help we can turn these vulnerable spaces into comforting environments, like the one where Sam rang the end-of-treatment bell after finishing his gruelling chemotherapy journey.
Patient
Experiences
A hospital stay can be a scary experience. With your support, we can bring smiles to patients in those vulnerable moments through small gifts, visits from local celebrities or special days out. These gestures make a big impact at times when things feel overwhelming.
